AUSTIN AREA RIDE

HI saw your "cry for help" on Texascruisers on ride routes and I have one for you   This is a short ride for me, but for someone else coming in it might take a little longer.  This will take you through Wimberley (right through the Wimberley square where there's lot's of neat little eateries and shops), riding on the Devils Backbone, going up scenic 281 to 962 which will take you past Westcave Preserve and Hamilton Pool Preserve  OR past Pedernales State Park.  The only thing is, I'm not very good at North, South, East and West, so I'll put them as I know and then other directions will be left and right (I'm kind of directionally impaired - lol..)  ALSO, I wish your store was closer.  Any chance you will be opening one on this side of town!

Start
RR12 in Dripping Springs
RR12 South
32 right (devils backbone)
281 north (right)

Now here is where you can take 1 of 2 routes back to downtown Dripping Springs OR even back to Austin.  BUT, the road that takes you by Pedernales State Park and continues to Dripping will have a low water crossing, so it's best if we've had rain, not to take this road.

FIRST ROUTE  (This road does have a low water crossing and does get slippery)
Your on 281 going north  look for 2766 in Johnson City.  Turn right.  This will eventually turn into 101/Fitzhugh.   Take this all the way to RR12 and you can turn right and go back to Dripping AND take 290 to get back to Austin  OR stay on 101/Fitzhugh and this will take you a little further East on 290.

SECOND ROUTE
Your on 281 going north, look for 962 and take a right.  This will take you past both Preserves.   I do need to let you know there is a hairpin turn that kind of gives me butterflies on this road, but it's still fun.  Take a right on RR12 and head back to downtown dripping.

Hope I didn't confuse you too much.  If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me.
Have an awesome day!

Okay, you have me on a roll here.  tee hee

Here are two more ride routes and of course they are leaving from Dripping Springs.  Most of my rides are relatively short due to having3 kiddos (15, 13 and 8)  and a very supportive hubby and I don't like to be gone for very long. Our weekends are short and we try to do as much family time together as possible.  I try to head out around 7:30 a.m. and try to be home by noon - 1:00ish, so I don't normally stop for eating, just a quick water and potty break.  BUT, there are some good eateries on both these rides.
